ABOUT THE PLATFORM

In 2003 a process was initiated in Europe to set up European Technology Platforms. Technology Platforms are joint, big undertakings of European Commission, industry, research and financial institutions, decision groups and society to work out development strategy for Europe’s important economy sectors and for new technologies. These initiatives are to concentrate efforts of main European partners on execution of these strategies in the form of large research-industrial projects.

First technological platforms were being set up in Poland in 2004 with the aim to prepare development strategy for economy sectors important for the country and for new technologies.

On 26th April, 2004 a letter of intent regarding setting up of PPTL was signed and later on an agreement was concluded regarding establishing of a PPTL Consortium. Parties to these documents were Rzeszów Technical University, Aviation Valley Association and National Contact Point.
